Another Vancouver-area toddler is recovering in hospital after nearly drowning in a family's
backyard pool, the second such incident in less than a month.
West Vancouver police Sgt. Paul Skelton said the boy was
at home with a parent and a nanny at their Horseshoe Bay residence when he wandered out of sight.
"They quickly
checked the general area and found him in the pool. They quickly retrieved him from the pool and a nanny who was on scene
administered CPR," said Skelton.
The nanny managed to revived the toddler and he was then taken to hospital where
he is expected to make a full recovery, said Skelton.
Early this month a two-year-old girl who was found floating face
down in a backyard swimming pool in Surrey, B.C. was also saved by a quick-thinking family friend who gave the child CPR.
